Nonviolent Politics Workshops Introductory workshops are being held in Melbourne for people wishing to learn the principles and dynamics which underpin nonviolent struggle. The workshops cover such things as: * campaign strategies and skills * group dynamics and processes * nonviolent action in history * the nature of conflict and power * the theory of nonviolent politics The workshops, for groups of fifteen to twenty people, are fun, involving and designed for people who have little or no experience in nonviolent action or for any social change activists who wish to learn more about the insights of nonviolent politics. A choice of a two-hour workshop on Thursday evenings, a one day workshop on a Sunday or a two day, weekend workshop is offered. The cost of the workshop for each person is as much as they can afford at the time and is determined by a cost-sharing exercise. The Melbourne Nonviolence Teachers Collective Victorian Gathering A gathering of the Victorian Nonviolence Network will take place at 1pm on Sunday 2nd June 1991 at 19 Murray St., West Brunswick. This gathering has the aim of bringing together nonviolent activists working in any area to share ideas, information and tasks which will develop and strengthen the grassroots nonviolence network in Victoria. We hope to organise and share the functions(?) of the network; eg. international links, maintaining communication, workshops/teaching, resource gathering, and getting to know each other better. Master Classes Professor Johan Galtung and Dr. Fumiko Nishimura will be presenting four series of free master classes on nonviolence, peace, war, conflict resolution and world politics at the University of Queensland, from July 1 to August 8, 1991.
