Dear NvT, I would like to invite readers to consider becoming a key contact person with the Australian Nonviolence Network (ANN). If you live in an area of Australia that does not already have ANN contacts and if you wish to be part of the growing and active network, you may be interested. Key contact people can fulfil important network roles by: becoming part of the regular phone link-ups to discuss reports and information about nonviolence activities with activists from around Australia; fostering activist exchanges; helping to promote the ANN within their local community and distributing the materials and resources offered by the Centre for Nonviolence in Victoria to people and groups in their bioregion, and participating in the gatherings of the nonviolence network. The basic requirements of key contact people are: a phone (a fax and/or Email address would be good), an understanding of, and agreement with the workings, aims and basic principles of the ANN (which are still being developed) and a willingness to carry out the various roles of a contact person. For further information about becoming a key contact person or to find out who is the ANN contact person in your region, please contact the Centre for Nonviolence, c/- Commonground, PO Box 474 Seymour, Victoria 3661. Ph (057) 93 8400, Email: nonviolence@peg.apc.org. Anthony Kelly
